12/22/17 We started off in our PJs and the customized story about how the kids at UDCNS saved Christmas was great! The storyteller really did make it snow inside our school. We also heard about Olive the other reindeer, ask us! We practiced then just brought the real deal to UDCNS, we hope you liked our Christmas story in song! (truly our best performance by far). We made birthday cards for Jesus and and finished writing about gifts for Him. We hope you enjoy ripping off the last links on our Advent at home. I know our Elf on the Shelf saw some good behavior in class in the last few weeks so I am hopeful the kids will be happy for this holiday....
MERRY CHRISTMAS and Happy New Year to all
12/15/17 Jesus is born, that's the message at chapel and we will celebrate that miracle next week at the pageant for you! His name also begins with Jj so we enjoyed jump roping, juggling, jingle bell throwing and singing. The true meaning of the candy cane was a great story and we enjoyed creating and eating candy cane cookies with our Pre-K friends. We also played with jello and tasted it too, how jiggly. We explored the first snow outside until it was too cold to go out. Library recalled the classic, "Twas the Night Before Christmas then we heard the same story format but it told of Jesus' birth, how cool. More days rip off our Advent chain so know Christmas is coming but it is hard to wait so we busied ourselves with Christmas wrapping paper, dove headpieces and such, it's exciting.
12/8/17 A busy week for sure with igloo building, -ig, -it and -in word plays, ice melts (for real), ice skating (on paper plates) and counting ice cream scoops (just pom poms). We are in the Christmas spirit with our decorations and the manger we built on the bulletin reminds us of the greatest gift, JESUS. We put a beautiful manger scene in our journals to remind us of this and the fingerplay we do to focus on Him. We're working on a super gift gift for the family so that's all we can say right now. We continue to practice our pageant songs all the time, we heard about Mary visiting Elizabeth and getting excited about her baby at chapel and we listened to The Christmas Baby at library. We celebrated Natalia's birthday with cupcakes too so this week just kept bringing the fun!
12/1/17 We hopped into this week with Hh happily doing the hokey pokey at gym along with a live version of hungry hippo! We counted heads and tails on a penny, played with rescue heroes and horses, practiced hopscotch and wore crazy hats. We also tried balancing bean bags on our heads after we heard the story Caps for Sale. When a special Elf visited our room we began some Christmas decorating with pastel art, Advent links and some angel art. That tied into our chapel story of the angel visiting Mary and telling her the special message of a baby to come. We hopped outside as rabbits, kangaroos and frogs, it's a workout. We also identified hinges in our rooms and saw how they work, did you find any at hhhhhhome?
