Nov 26 - 30
We hopped along with Hh to start getting ready for Christmas as we viewed Who's Coming to Our House?  and tied it to chapel as we talked about who is coming to start the  new church year.  This doesn't happen quick and we heard how Mary was scared at first but trusted God so we hope to do the same. It seems we LOVE to get ready as we (the kids) began decorating the classroom.  We reviewed our home addresses and we heard  The Hat  and by Jan Brett and got inspired to make some Hedgie art.  We also wore our crazy hats to join in the fun. We took a crisp walk around the building one day and looked for animals that don't hibernate, great talk!  At library time we also heard a hilarious Pete the Cat story titled The Cool Cat Boogie and another story identified the merits of the tortoise rather than the hare in the classic fable. Ask us to recap the lesson learned.  At gym, we attempted to play real hungry hippo with scooters, (see gallery pics) it's hard!

Nov 19 - 23
We packed all we could into a grateful week.  We filled out kindness turkey with lots of feathers and we liked out handprint turkey we put in our journal.  We're certainly thankful for our friends and we enjoyed feasting with them (
see pics).  As we made our prayer rhebus we recall that we're thankful to God for everything (see hallway bulletin board)!  Mrs. Condeelis read a funny story, Mrs. Nosh and the Great Big Squash.  We wrapped up our community unit by reviewing the entire alphabet not just E F and G with Mrs. Falconio reading ABCDrive.  Have a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving, gobble gobble
Nov 12 - 16
Mrs. Condeelis read Llama llama Grandma Grandpa to get us read for our special day.  We loved having our  Grandparents/Special Friends come and gave them our priceless creation.  Making gummy bear creations with them was tons of fun too. We also shared chapel time and we'll follow up on more of Abraham's life next week. Letter Gg  had us guessing how many grapes and graham crackers we saw in a glass then we ate them for snack.  We made indian corn art and added feathers to our turkey for kind deeds and we decorated some thanksgiving pictures for our Prek board, gobble gobble.  Gym has us identifying G words while jogging then sitting on the ground, it was hard but fun work.  The BigDay theme of community added vehicles to how we move so we added them to our hallway bulletin board, tracing, coloring and cutting all the way. We also sounded out the syllables to many vehicle words, it sounds simple but they love doing that so continue that at home too.
Nov 5 - 9
Slightly shorter week with an election day snuck in there but worked hard and finished our ark artwork. How cool are our watercolor rainbows?  We know it showed Noah that God keeps his promises, how special.  The letter Ff brought out the water table thinking of arks or other things that might sink or float.  We added the concept of community helpers to our BigDay theme and enjoyed identifying them with a big book with Mrs. Walker's class and a rhyming story with Mrs. Falconio's class.  Library tied into this idea with Firefighters A-Z along with the letter F, how fun.  We played a frog hop game, played with feathers and sang and acted out the F song.   We also created a special gift for our grandparents/special friends, shhh it's a secret.  Gym had us moving by freeze dancing, it gets the heart pumping for sure!
Oct 29 - Nov 2
Chapel brought us the story of Noah so we started some art to recall that promising story.  We began syllable work, clapping out how many sounds you hear in a community location word such as  hos-pit-al (3), try it at home.  We identified places we go in our community and wrote about our errands.  This tied into our letter Ee which didn't generate a lot of words but I think we got the idea that it's a special letter with two sounds short and long.  With Halloween in the middle of the week, we had our costume parade, Mr. Don told us a great story with our names and costumes in it and we enjoyed our library story titled Believe it or not My Brother Has A Monster!   The nice weather let us have gym outside as we ran relay races stuffing a pumpkin with candy and doing silly Halloween motions.  Finally, we said goodbye to October
