Zz had us zigging and zagging, especially in gym class. We also loved building a zoo with lincoln logs and animals while practicing zippering zippers! We focused on "I can do it!" as we heard Leo the Late Bloomer (check our writing on our bulletin board) and The Little Engine That Could. Mrs. Condeelis read us a new story titled Little Red's Riding Hood that was quite entertaining. Our patience was rewarded as God showed us a chrysalis opening!!!! (sorry no pics, I was in shock and couldn't leave the net). All 6 painted lady butterflies emerged and we set them free on the playground. Pastor Lawlor reminded us not to worry, God takes care of us, like all of His creations. Birds don't worry even when it rains, God provides for them and He does for us too we just have to believe. Therefore we hope that God will help us take care of the seeds we planted in our garden!
We talked about trying new things and how that felt. We tried sweet potatoes, new for most, at snack! Did you know that's also called a yam? Yy had us also playing with yarn and doing a variety of yoga poses at gym. Library showed us an adventure with Monkey and Cake while music had us learning our moving on songs. Our caterpillars are gone and we're watching the chrysalis closely. We did review the butterfly lifecycle sequencing it with stamps, labeling with words and acting it out with motions so I think we know what comes next and we're excited. Finally, Dr. Farrell came to visit and talked about taking care of your teeth to stay healthy, keep that pledge to brush 2x and floss daily.
In May we "move on" in many ways to finish the year. We talked and wrote ab out going to new places real or imagined, check the hallway. We hope the Mother's Breakfast showed all the love we packed into it and you enjoy your gifts. Letter Xx had us examining xrays and xylophones along with other words with Xx in it anywhere, it's tricky. Chapel talked about The Lord's Prayer and we recited it along with our X-bunch prayer song (see below). The art that accompanied our prayer talk is amazing and a gift, see what links our hands together.
"X-bunch prayer song" tune: Jesus loves me
You can talk to God each day
When you bow your head to pray
God will always answer you
He hears your prayers and loves you too
Please pray to God (2x)
Always pray to God
For God takes care of you
