Governor Wolf gave a press conference at 2:00 pm on Thursday March 12th regarding the COVID-19 outbreak. During this conference he gave the instruction to close all Montgomery County schools beginning tomorrow, March 13th for the next two weeks. We are following the Governor’s instruction and our school will not be open for the next two weeks.
Thank you all for your understanding and patience during this unsettling time. We will miss seeing all of your smiling faces but look forward to our healthy, happy return On Monday 3/31! If anything should change between now and then, I will be in touch! -Kathleen Vega
Ms. Linda got us in the St. Patrick's mood early as she played the tin whistle for us and we danced to some Irish music (see pics)! Ironically our healthy unit focused on how we take care of ourselves, doing first aid when possible and helping others too. We also focused on when we are sick and identified what we can do to get better reading a silly story titled How Do Dinosaurs Get Well Soon and in library I Am Sick. Our centers included taking care of pretend pets with our Pet Vet kit, coloring our germs fact booklet, washing some of our toys with soap and water (who knew how much fun THAT would be, they loved washing!!) Chapel brought the story of four friends who brought a sick friend to Jesus for healing. The fun part was it was so crowded at the house that they believed in Jesus so much and wanted to help their friend so they climbed up on the roof and lowered him down to get to Jesus, wow! Letter Rr brought lots of red coloring, rescue hero play, rice table fun, rainbow fingerpainting and rubber band design boards. We got silly painting with toothbrushes for art but it reminded us to have healthy teeth and sing the toothbrush song along with the hand washing song so we get all the germs out.
Reviewing N-Q was fun nailing, Spotting O’s, puzzling, q-tip towering. Growing Up Healthy unit kicked off with talk of our 5 senses. We made a class book that reviews this, it will be circulating soon. Chapel brought us another amazing miracle, Jesus walking on water. We made some motion art to show you this! Dr. Seuss and rhyming was celebrated all week , in music with a Green Eggs and Ham music game, reading Mr. Brown can Moo Can You along with hearing One Fish Two Fish at library.
