We tapped our way through the week making toothpick and tinkertoy towers, eating tasty healthy snacks like toast, tomatoes and turkey bacon and we played lots of tic tac toe all for letter Tt. We painted lovely watercolors for spring and learned another fun song to the tune of the Farmer and the Dell, ask us. Mrs. Condeelis read Wake up It's Spring to keep us celebrating this new season and our lion/lamb counting shows lamb weather wins!. Our healthy living unit wrapped up as PreK did a group read of Always Be Safe and had great talking points before during and after the story! Ms. Linda reviewed our healthy eating habits by using fruit and vegetable shakers for her eating a rainbow song, what healthy fun. The bible story of Jesus healing Bartimaeus reminded us how loving Jesus is and what a gift sight is. We did whole PreK centers on Wednesday and one was focused on Braille, how it looks and feels reading when blind, we made the alphabet to remind us of this special reading. We also enjoyed math bingo and a letter review game with the other teachers, it was special rotating rooms and learning in small groups from all 3 classes.

Tricky leprechauns visited our room! Ask us about it. We traced and colored a shamrock in our journal and drew spring pictures around it to celebrate spring! We have a new fingerplay that reminds us of all the new activity we'll see in this season and chapel tied into it as Pastor Keith talked about a teeny tiny mustard seed and how it grows into a huge bush with God's help. Spring is beautiful and God's work. Our work was creating a lovely garden of flowers that just bloomed on our bulletin board. We also made daffodils that are springing up the hallway on the Pre-K bulletin board, looks so happy. Mr. Don came to tell us an unique pirate story that had our names in it! Remember, the real treasure is "knowledge". The teachers had a very informative day at the Area Nursery School Association (ANSA) conference.
We tied the idea of taking care of our body to stay healthy with the miracle of Jesus healing a bent woman. Did you like our spine art? They talked and practiced pretend first aid. We also colored a germ fighter booklet, lyrics to songs enclosed. For letter Ss we generated a slew of words as we played with a scale, cut squares, made playdough snakes and selected stickers then stamped the letter that started with that sticker picture! We enjoyed an improv read of Still A Gorilla (thanks Lukas). We decorated a PBIS school poster illustrating the "Be Safe" words in particular and that tied into our library story of Officer Buckle and Gloria. At gym we focused on safe personal space as we used scooters and played balloon keep up! Finally, we loved our spaghetti centers, not only learning the science of liquid into gas (when boiling water to cook the noodles) but spelling with the cold spaghetti later and making patterns with "yarn spaghetti". See the video of a great healthy song we sang in music that also gives a great faith message.
We marched into March singing our lion/lamb song about weather and we introduced the unit on healthy eating. Our chapel story brought the miracle of feeding many with 5 little loaves and 2 little fishes , see our plates in the hallway! With Ash Wednesday following next, we briefly talked about Lent and will end each day with a 5 minute family reflection from that UDLC devotional (ask us about hands and oil) along with getting blessed by their teachers every day! The letter Rr had us reading and rhyming in many stories. We wrote our name in rice and we had relay races in gym class. We also rocked out to music, finding our rhythm. Since library brought Dragons Love Tacos we made some snack tacos that were tasty and helped us talk about our senses and how they get us to stay healthy. We also made a yummy and yucky picture collage working on our cutting skills and finally we wrote some senses sentences that we illustrated.
