Letter Qq inspired a class quilt to be created, it looks amazing. We also moved quickly and quietly at times because we can. Ms. Linda taught us the parts of the violin and we played it in music class, how cool. Chapel told us about Jesus calming the storm (ask us to sing the song), we loved acting that miracle out. We attended the childrens portion of Ash Wednesday service and got ashes on our forehead. To follow up, we're trying to "high-five" Jesus all Lent by doing good things at home then bring back the signed hand so we can fill our bulletin board heart with high-five deeds. Library brought the story of Too Loud Lily which talked about using our gifts in the art. Therefore in our class we saw how art is all around as we played instruments, danced to music, and created Q-tip picture art. Math snuck in as we flipped quarters, tallying heads or tails.
The shorter week brought plenty of action, especially building as our imaginations focused on the materials we use to build our structures. Starting with the classic Three Little Pigs story, we explored ways to build with straws, lincoln logs and legos. We also tried sugar cubes for an igloo, it was hard. Chapel switched up and talked about Jesus' parable of salt and light and how just a little makes a big difference, just like us. We celebrated Pp with pretzels and popcorn at snack, we designed with pipe cleaners, we popped up and down like popcorn and drew a person after we read the silly story More Parts.
We really focused on love this week, making valentines for our Pre-K bulletin board as well as our family and friends. We showed love and munched donuts with Dad and enjoyed that special time!, We decorated bags to collect our valentines and just loved mailing them to each other as we heard 'Twas the Night Before Valentines Day . The Letter Oo had us add onto our imagination as we focused on the tools we use to create things like ovals. We used tools like pencils, crayons, scissors, glue and paint and the octopus song was fun to sing. Hearing the story of Harold and the Purple Crayon inspired us to do some purple drawings too. Chapel highlighted how Jesus turned water to wine at a wedding in Cana, see our 3-D art to prove it.
Letter Nn was nifty was we hammered real nails, see pics. We heard an imaginative story Not A Box to open up our Imagine It unit, you should hear what we turned a real cardboard box into during choice. We also made necklace and made up stories of what we would catch in a net. Chapel brought the first miracle story of Jesus healing two blind me. We tried to feel that by playing with the feely box using only our sense of touch not eyes. We also did a lot of counting and wrote numbers as much as we could take. Gym brought a great obstacle course and we finished our final animal center at science lab
