We enjoyed all of our discussions and art surrounding the four seasons. We made patterns with seasonal pics and word webs too, it was challenging. We enjoyed X watercolor print and sang "Do You Know The X-ray Man?" We reviewed feeling identification and tied to doubt in chapel as we learned of Thomas not believing unless he sees. Finally Spring Fling was a blast even though it was inside, we hope you enjoyed some if not all of the interactive stations!
We fixated on weather this week by journaling it and acting it out from google images. We talked about how weather affects our feelings, how we dress and identified activities we do because of it. Wind was a big focus since it starts with Ww and we made it with our bodies! We designed windmills, and saw how wind moves by blowing paper with straws. We also made some watermelon art and began a surprise project for Mom(don't ask us about it). Gym we played duck duck goose, we are pros at waiting our turn and cheering for others. Chapel had us think about the Emmaus story and how we would feel if Jesus walked by in the hallway, check our bulletin board. Finally in library we heard a story that highlighted gravity and we had just been exploring that on the playground with woodchips, sometimes the learning really just comes together!
We began our full week looking at the sky and seeing clouds, sun, moon, stars and more. The story of Little Cloud by Eric Carle inspired some cloudy paintings, more to come with our name clouds... The letter Vv had use eating vegetables for snack, even a veggie pizza! We painted with veggies and tied that in with last week's theme of how things grow and took it to the school garden outside to weed the beds, prep the soil, and finally plant the seeds, how exciting. Here's hoping they sprout soon but it's hard to wait. Mrs. Condeelis read The Dandelion Seed to help us review how a seed grows. Other V fun included creating playdough volcanoes, driving various vehicles on the carpet and making vase art. Chapel talked of the lost sheep story and reminded us how God loves each one of us.
Pastor showed us how the tomb was empty so now we know Jesus is alive even thought we don't see him. We celebrated in two big ways. First, we posted a cool color cross to our Easter bulletin board. Second, we prepared and ate rice krispies snacks as we watched the marshmellow (Jesus) melt into endless rice crispies, sticking to everyone we could think of, a great visual of His unending love. The letter Uu let us draw and eat under tables!! We began talking about how plants grow and planted some lettuce seeds indoors. We postponted our outside garden work until next week when snow MUST be gone. Gym brought fun partner games like wheelbarrow races and back-to-back ball carries. It was hard and fun at the same time. Library highlighted garden stories. We also enjoyed Pirate Love Underpants so much we designed a pair of our own for our class bulletin board
Blog for Mrs. Devlin's class!
